Akani Paints and EMR Vision Foundation have taken a proactive step in empowering young people by requesting business training support from the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA) for local youth.
A total of 26 young people from Nkowankowa and surrounding areas successfully completed a five-day Youth Business Training Program aimed at equipping them with essential business and compliance skills.
The sessions were held at Akani Paints, located in the Nkowankowa Industrial Park, and facilitated by EMR Vision Foundation and Akani Paints in collaboration with NYDA.
Participants received certificates under the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) initiative — a global entrepreneurship programme developed by the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and implemented in South Africa through NYDA.
Throughout the week, participants were trained on company registration, filing beneficial ownership returns, submitting CIPC annual returns, and registering on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).
These skills are vital for young entrepreneurs to formalise their businesses, comply with regulations, and compete effectively in today’s economy.
The collaboration between NYDA, EMR Vision Foundation, and Akani Paints highlights a strong commitment to youth empowerment, entrepreneurship development, and local economic growth in the Greater Tzaneen area.
