

Ritavi senior primary school in Nkowankowa, circuit, Mopani district together with their teachers smiled and sang a song of joy and happiness after they received a fully stocked mobile library from AVBOB foundation. The donation was held at the school on Thursday, 29 September 2022.

The donation made Ritavi Senior Primary the 59th beneficiary to receive a mobile library. The mobile library project has become the foundation flagship project after being launched, to date. 5 fully equipped libraries have been donated to five schools in Limpopo. Each library is constructed from refurbished shipping containers.

These libraries are delivered painted, decorated and with wooden laminated floors, shelving, a blackboard, tables and chairs and 2500 books.

AVBOB executive committee member were join by department of education representative amongst was the Mopani West District director Mrs. Philippine Pulane Modika, Chief(Hosi) Muhlava the 3rd ,the school former principal Mr. Nkuna ,Greater Tzaneen Municipality acting mayor Thabo Maunatlala, Nkowankowa Circuit Manager Mrs. Doreen Manzini with Provincial Manager of AVBOB Andrew Mathebula MC for the day.
The executive director of AVBOB Mrs. Pulane Modika delivered the keynote address in which she shared details on the school library campaign, which aims to revitalize and/or make available libraries to under privileged schools.
Modika further noted that AVBOB read to lead campaign was created in support of the above. To complement this ambitious program, the goal of the read to lead campaign is to establish a reading revolution in schools and beyond.
“Our singular focus is making reading fashionable again if we make reading a life style of our children and adults, Africa will become an Oasis of intellectuals and reservoirs of knowledge .As AVBOB we are committed to improving education at a fundamental level. This commitment is reinforced by Sasha Salminas quote. A child who read becomes an adult who thinks.” explained Modika.
Ritavi Principal DR B.V. Mbalati thanked the AVBOB Foundation for contributing towards the learners education and literacy by helping them discover the joy of reading.
“This is a miracle for this school we have been applying to many organization for help with book donations, but we never imagined that we could be given a whole new library believe the library will inspire them to read and apply their acquired knowledge.” Said Mbalati.
Mbalati continue to give thanks to the panel of selectors for doing a marvelous job for selecting her school that deserve recognition for their academic performance an accomplishment.
